Starlett Massey is an art aficionado, recreational craft artist, and supporter of emerging artists. She believes that art has the unique ability to elevate the quality of the human experience, and to relay messages and ideas in a way that words cannot. To quote Toni Cade Bambara, “the role of the artist is to make the revolution irresistible.” She grew up in an art gallery owned by her grandmother in her hometown of Panama City, Florida, the Gallery of Art. As her grandmother founded the Gallery of Art in an old gas station, she understands that any place has the potential to be a space for artists to share and sell their work. Starlett has long dreamed of having an art gallery of her own. With the other lady lawyers of the Collab at 3833, she developed the concept of using their shared law offices to support emerging artists in Tampa Bay.
Starlett is the founding shareholder of Massey Law Group, P.A., and a real estate and business lawyer. She believes that any vibrant community should support its artists. She also encourages artists to develop the business acumen so that their art can fully support them financially. Starlett will offer all artists who are selected to show their work at the Collab at 3833 the opportunity to receive a complimentary creation of a corporate entity that will help them grow their business.
While Starlett may not have the professional expertise as an artist or academic to serve as a jurist on an art panel, she has a passion for supporting her community artists and growing her vision for the Collab at 3833. She welcomes all emerging artists to apply for this unique opportunity!
